Guidelines For International Arrival

Revised Guidelines for International Arrivals (to be effective from 00.01 Hrs, 8th August 2020)

Before Planning for Travel:

(a) All the travelers are required to submit a self-declaration form on (www.newdelhiairport.in ) at least 72 hours before the travel.

(b) An undertaking form must be provided at the portal, mentioning that they would undergo 14 days of mandatory quarantine. ( 7 days institutional quarantine + 7 days home quarantine )

(c) Exemption from institutional quarantine, i.e. 14 days of home quarantine will be given only for compelling reasons. Travelers may also seek exemption from institutional quarantine by submitting a negative RT-PCR test report.

Before Boarding:

(a) Download the Aarogya Setu app.

(b) Only asymptomatic travelers will be allowed to board after the thermal screening.

(c) Suitable precautionary measures such as disinfection, social distancing and environmental sanitation shall be ensured at the airports.

During Travel:

(a) Passengers who had not filled the self-declaration form at the online portal would be required to fill the same at the airport/seaport/land port.

(b) While onboard, required precautions such as wearing masks, environmental hygiene, respiratory hygiene, hand hygiene etc. are a must.

On Arrival:

(a) Social distancing and personal hygiene must be ensured during the whole travel.

(b) Thermal screening would be carried out by the Health officials. The self-declaration form shall be shown to the airport health staff.

(c) The passengers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated and taken to a medical facility.

(d) Passengers shall be taken to suitable institutional quarantine facilities, to be arranged by the respective State/ UT Governments. They will be quarantined for a minimum 7 days. Testing will be done as per the ICMR protocol.

SOP For Metro Train Covid-19 Travel

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has announced the guidelines for the resumption of metro operations from September 7.

  • Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board.
  • Compulsory use of masks by all the metro passengers and staff.
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air-conditioning system should be used.
  • Stations or entry and exit gates in the containment zones will remain closed.
  • Suitable markings at the stations and inside the trains will be done to ensure social distancing.
  • Sanitizers will be provided to all the passengers at entry points. Sanitization of all areas should be done at regular intervals.
  • ​Use of Smart card and cashless/online transactions to be encouraged.
  • Adequate dwell time at stations should be provided to enable smooth boarding/deboarding ensuring social distancing.
  • Passengers are advised to travel with minimum luggage and avoid carrying metallic items for easy and quick scanning.

Relaxations In Visa And Travel Restrictions

The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to permit all OCI and PIO cardholders and all other foreign nationals intending to visit India for any purpose, except on a Tourist Visa. However, all such travelers have to strictly adhere to the quarantine and other COVID guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The government of India has also decided to restore with immediate effect all existing visas (except electronic visa, tourist visa, and medical visa).
